Ben Whittaker has opened the door to a future fight with Chris Eubank Jr., despite being two weight classes heavier than his compatriot.
Eubank Jr and Whittaker, who are signed to Ben Shalom’s BOXXER, will fight in separate bouts as part of the undisputed lightweight heavyweight title fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol October 12 in Saudi Arabia.
The prospect of an unlikely meeting between the British pair has been floated in recent weeks and 2020 Olympic silver medallist Whittaker, who will face Liam Cameron in his ninth professional lightweight heavyweight fight, believes his youth and size will prove crucial if they go head-to-head.
“If there’s money, sign me up. I’m bigger, younger, fresher. I wouldn’t turn it down,” the 27-year-old said Sky Sports Television.
“But it’s kind of a weird fight that happened. Like I said, it would be frigid to check it off the list.
“I am bigger.
“Weight classes exist for a reason and I think he’s coming to the end of his career.
“I’m just starting my career, so it’s probably a good time for me to catch up with him.
“I just check off every department. He’s got experience. Obviously he’s been in some bigger fights, but I think if it came down to it, I’d be better.”
Eubank Jr. fights for the first time since his revenge on Liam Smith last September when he faces former world title challenger Kamil Szeremeta in a middleweight bout.
“Next Gen” was in negotiations to fight super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, but failed to finalize a deal and the Mexican star opted to defend his world titles against Edgar Berlanga September 14th in Las Vegas.
The Brighton man admits he fell out with ‘The Surgeon’, whose signature antics went viral and earned him almost 3 million Instagram followers.
“I didn’t know it was a conversation,” the 34-year-old said. Toe2Toe Podcast.
“Two amusing, cheeky [fighters] who love to take risks and show off in the ring, this is obviously a sexy fight.
“I’ve been following him. It’s amazing how popular he is on social media.
“He catches a lot of people’s attention. I don’t know how many fights he’s had, but he hasn’t fought anyone.
“I had a fight.
“But his style and everything he does gets him a lot of attention on social media, which is great.
“This is what England really needs. It’s very uncommon to have something like this in Britain.”

November 13, 2024Mike Tyson made a basic promise to fans who are considering watching his fight against Jake Paul, stating, “You won’t be disappointed.”
The former “Baddest Man on the Planet” will face the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who has a record of 10-1, in a controversial fight next Friday (November 15) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The match was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but was postponed after Tyson suffered a flare-up of ulcers during a flight. Despite the delay, fans curious about how the two will fare given their 31-year age difference will finally get answers later this week, with the fight streaming live on Netflix.
While not everyone supports the idea, Tyson assured fans in his final message of the day at the end of open training: “Join us on November 15. You won’t be disappointed.”
Tyson prepared rigorously for the fight and during some open training sessions he showed that he still had considerable strength. However, his choreographed power punch patterns revealed little in terms of the speed and endurance he would likely need to defeat a much younger opponent.
Nevertheless, Tyson insisted he learned: “That I’m tougher than I thought. Because really, when I agreed to this fight and started training, I said, ‘What the hell am I thinking? ‘” “And now I’ve finished the process and the fight is a party. All the difficult work has been done.”
Paul is brimming with confidence ahead of his fight against an opponent who is over thirty years his senior. The 27-year-old boxer expressed his excitement.
He said: “I’m just ecstatic to be here. I’m so grateful for all the fans who show up and Dallas is going to be an amazing night on Friday. I’m just having fun doing my thing. I feel really good. Pointed, sturdy, explosive. It’s going to be a brief night for Mike.
He added: “It’s not how long you do something, it’s how well you do it. On Friday night, people will see me sending a message to someone who has been doing this their whole life.
“On Friday my dream comes true and my career begins. This is the beginning of an amazing journey. It doesn’t matter what I’ve done so far – my career starts on Friday night.”

Jake Paul’s girlfriend shares disturbing news in three words ahead of Mike Tyson fight
Published

November 13, 2024Jake Paul’s girlfriend previously revealed her concerns about her boyfriend’s highly anticipated fight with Mike Tyson. Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam stated that Tyson remains a fierce competitor and stated that “he is just terrible”.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul will fight Tyson in front of 90,000 spectators at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Saturday morning. About 500 million viewers are expected to watch the fight at home, which will undoubtedly make it one of the most watched sporting events of all time.
Tyson is now 58 years ancient, but he has retained much of the form that made him the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for three years between 1987 and 1990. Leerdam has concerns about this fight.
“He’s the competitor that scares me the most,” Paula said on the show podcast earlier this year.
“He’s just scary, he’s super sturdy and I’ve seen his videos. Of course, he’s a little older now. But if you’ve ever been able to do it, your body remembers it. He has this power forever. “
Leerdam still believes Paul will win this fight, but points out that the 27-year-old has only been training properly as a boxer for five years. Meanwhile, Tyson has forty years of experience to draw on.
“One thing about Jake is he’s been doing this for five years,” she continued. “I think it’s worse than being almost 60… and having this power your whole life. You trained so much, your body will remember it.
“Jake wasn’t even training five years ago… he was partying. (Tyson) is 58 years ancient but he is sturdy, his body just remembers how to fight.”
Leerdam is not the only person in Paul’s inner circle who has concerns about fighting one of the greatest boxers of all time. Paul previously revealed that his mother constantly asks his team questions.
“She’ll be there, but my mom is actually very scared,” Paul said. “Like he keeps asking me if I’m ready, he keeps asking my team if I’m ready. Honestly, she doesn’t like it. He (Tyson) just looks scary and powerful and his Instagram videos with the gloves make you look crazy and everything, so I get it.”
People close to Tyson also questioned his acceptance of the fight. Iron Mike says his wife wonders why he does this.
“This fight won’t change my life financially,” he told SPORTbible. “If I did it for free, it wouldn’t change my life. My wife keeps telling me, “You don’t have to be in this fight.”
